Terms of Service
1. Who We Are
Friday is a marketplace that helps travelers (“Guests”) discover and book sessions with local experts (“Locals”). Friday provides the platform, booking flow, and support tools. Unless explicitly stated, Friday does not itself provide travel services, guide services, or professional advice.
2. Definitions
“Guest” means a user who browses, requests, or books a session. “Local” means a user who offers a session through Friday. “Session” means a time-bound service such as video chat, messaging, or in-person meetups. “Content” means text, images, videos, reviews, or messages posted on Friday. “Booking” means a confirmed reservation created through Friday. “Fees” means platform/service fees and any applicable taxes displayed at checkout.
3. Account & Eligibility
You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You must be able to legally enter into a contract in your jurisdiction to use paid features. If you use Friday on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
4. Platform Rules (All Users)
You agree not to: - bypass the platform to avoid fees (e.g., taking payment off-platform after matching) - post illegal, misleading, or infringing content - harass, discriminate, or threaten others - scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service - impersonate others or misrepresent identity, skills, or availability We may remove content or restrict accounts if these rules are violated.
5. Booking & Payments
When a Guest confirms a Booking, the Guest agrees to pay the total amount shown at checkout, including Fees and applicable taxes. Payments are processed through our payment partners. We may place holds, run fraud checks, and request additional verification. If payment fails, the Booking may be canceled.
6. Cancellations, Refunds, and Rescheduling
Cancellation and refund options depend on the Session type and the cancellation window shown at booking. If a Local cancels, we may help the Guest reschedule or issue a refund according to the policy shown. If a Guest is a no-show for an in-person Session, refunds may be limited. In case of extraordinary events (e.g., natural disasters, transportation shutdowns), we may provide flexible resolutions.
7. Local Responsibilities
Locals are responsible for: - providing accurate listing information (pricing, inclusions, language, location, time) - delivering Sessions professionally and safely - complying with local laws (permits, insurance, consumer rules, employment/tax obligations) - ensuring in-person Sessions are conducted in safe, lawful locations Friday may require identity verification or quality checks for Locals.
8. Guest Responsibilities
Guests are responsible for: - reading listing details before booking - arriving on time (or connecting on time for online sessions) - using good judgment in in-person meetings - complying with local rules and venue policies Friday does not guarantee outcomes (e.g., visas, employment, housing approvals).
9. Safety and Off-Platform Contact
For safety, keep communication and payments on Friday. Sharing personal contact details is allowed only when necessary for a confirmed Booking. For in-person Sessions, meet in public places when possible and follow local safety guidance. If you feel unsafe, leave and contact local authorities.
10. Reviews and Content
Users may post reviews after a Booking. Reviews must be honest, relevant, and not abusive. You grant Friday a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute Content you post, solely to operate and improve the service.
11. Platform Availability & Changes
We may update features, pricing, or policies. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email when appropriate. Friday is provided “as is” and may experience downtime or interruptions.
12. Liability and Disclaimers
Friday is a platform provider and is not responsible for the acts or omissions of Guests or Locals. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Friday is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profits, or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Disputes
If a dispute arises, please contact Friday Support first so we can try to resolve it. Where permitted, disputes may be handled through binding arbitration or a chosen jurisdiction specified in your local Terms addendum. (This section may require jurisdiction-specific edits.)

Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Friday collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our marketplace. Friday is designed to minimize unnecessary data collection while still supporting safe bookings, payments, and trust.
2. What We Collect
We may collect: - Account data: name, email, phone (optional), language, profile details - Booking data: session details, dates, prices, messages related to bookings - Payment-related data: payment tokens and transaction metadata via payment partners (we do not store full card numbers) - Verification data (optional): identity checks for Locals or fraud prevention - Usage data: device info, logs, analytics events, approximate location (e.g., city-level) - Content: messages, reviews, photos you upload
3. How We Use Data
We use personal information to: - operate the service (accounts, bookings, communication) - process payments and prevent fraud - improve search and matching - provide customer support and resolve disputes - comply with legal obligations - send service-related messages (booking updates, policy changes) We use marketing communications only when allowed, and you can opt out where applicable.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
We share data: - between Guests and Locals when necessary for a Booking (e.g., name, session details, limited contact) - with vendors (payment processing, hosting, analytics, verification) under contractual safeguards - when required by law or to protect safety, rights, and security We do not sell your personal information.
5. International Transfers
Friday may process data in countries other than where you live. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Some records (e.g., payment/transaction logs) may be retained longer to meet legal and accounting obligations.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No system is 100% secure, so please protect your password and avoid sharing sensitive data in messages.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact privacy@friday.example.
9. Children
Friday is not intended for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.

Best Price Guarantee
1. What This Means
If you book a Session on Friday and find the same Session offered publicly online at a lower price, you may be eligible for a price adjustment. This guarantee is intended to keep pricing fair and transparent for Guests.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, the lower price must match all of the following: - Same Local, same Session title/type, same duration, same inclusions - Same date/time (or an equivalent slot with identical terms) - Same currency (or clearly comparable after conversion) - Publicly available to anyone (not a private coupon or membership perk) - Verifiable via a link or screenshot at the time of claim
3. Claim Window & Process
Submit your claim within 24 hours of booking (or before the Session begins, whichever comes first). Send: - your Booking ID - the public URL (or screenshot) showing the lower price - a brief explanation of the match We may contact the Local to verify details. Approved claims may receive a partial refund or credit at Friday’s discretion.
4. Exclusions
This guarantee does not apply to: - bundles or packages that change inclusions - prices requiring loyalty points, subscriptions, or private groups - obvious pricing mistakes or errors - taxes, service charges, or fees charged by third parties - Sessions booked outside of Friday
5. Abuse Prevention
Friday may deny claims, limit eligibility, or suspend accounts if we detect misuse or fraudulent activity.
